Bloombites: Q2 Funding Data and Tech Coast Angels Fund | 8/4/20

Happy August. Time continues to warp. Meanwhile, companies have been busy meeting consumer demand or pivoting during the pandemic; keep it up! Data from Q2 of 2020 from Connect, CBRE, and Fresh Brewed Tech shows that fundraising was grooving on all cylinders with over $1 billion raised for San Diego companies between April and June. Some were making up for a paused March fundraising environment, while some other companies are having strong growth as the country continues to grapple with Covid-19.
Speaking of capital, local Tech Coast Angels San Diego chapter is opening its capital call to invest in the latest annual fund. TCA ACE20 raised $3.7 million and deployed it into 19 companies within 10 months, on top of individual angel checks. Want to join in? Get in touch with Ashok Kamal.
