Today is Giving Tuesday. It’s a great reminder that while we may be in the early stages of building our companies, we still have it so much better than others. Thanks for giving what you can – time, energy, financially to those who aren’t as lucky as some of us are. Speaking of giving back, have you read our Impact blog series by Carter Crockett? He highlights social entrepreneurship in San Diego. And who can forget this great Tacos and Tech Podcast episode with non-profit tech co-founder and CEO Scot Chisholm. Come see him speak at Startup Grind on Dec. 11.
If you are looking for creative ways to give back to our local startup community, Startup San Diego recently implemented an Amazon Smile account, so just by buying things the exact same way you do, it will donate a small portion to the nonprofit. If you aren’t using Amazon Smile, give it a shot by searching for Startup San Diego.
Related to Startup San Diego, the speaker application deadline for San Diego Startup Week 2020 has been extended to December 8, even with 270+ applications submitted since November 1. Get it in!
P.S. Don’t forget to check out our two latest original blog articles on UCSD’sStartR entrepreneurship programs by Fred Grier and the Active.com Tech Mafia: Part 9 by Andrea Siedsma. This award-winning mafia series tracks down the original tech workers of legendary San Diego companies and what they are up to now.
